God Gives Us His Assurance
Dear MBC Church Family,
When the invisible enemy fights the unseen hand of God, we know that our battles are already won. We praise God that we’ve seen family and friends recover from the coronavirus after we had earnestly prayed for them. We’re also seeing answers to our prayers for our own spiritual growth where we now look for opportunities to offer hope to those who are struggling under the stress of this pandemic. God knows how to give us His assurance that He will never leave us nor forsake us, so that we can now have the confidence to reach out to others undergoing a crisis of belief.
However, as we are awaiting the day when we return to some sense of normalcy, His word encourages us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). “ These words are so meaningful today, especially when we become deeply conflicted about taking risks to go on living our lives again. It can be tempting to let down our guard and disregard the stay-at-home or social distancing orders. But it’s precisely during these moments of anxiety and conflict that God calls us to draw close to Him. We have a once in a generation opportunity to witness first-hand the New Testament-like power of God in our lives. Our prayer is for Him to not let this moment pass until our faith is strong enough for us to walk daily in His mighty power. Galatians encourages us to continue to hold on a little longer and never give up so that we can experience His wonderful Presence.
Remember, “We’re all in this together. Let us pray together” as we observe a day of fasting and prayer for our families, friends, and communities. During that time we’ll pray that God will reveal His solution to ending the pandemic, as we humble ourselves before Him, seek His face and pray ( 2 Chronicles 7:14). We have the general theme for a day of prayer. Let’s ask God to reveal to us His timing for reaching out to the community to join us, so that all of us together will see the power of God revealed.
We’ve been blessed to have friends of the church remotely join us in our worship services and daily prayer times.
